Job Description


The position of Production Supervisor is a leadership role that ensures the manufacturing process remains smooth and efficient by organizing workflows and monitoring staff. The Production Supervisor role has an emphasis on employee mentoring/development and schedule attainment, while maintaining Companies strong cultural commitment to employee safety and product quality.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize, direct, train and assist the production staff to achieve a proper workflow and meet schedule requirements.
  • Organize, monitor, and prioritize tasks to meet production goals; predict and/or adjust for bottlenecks as required.
  • Take ownership of challenges/issues, work with appropriate departments within the organization to resolve, and have exceptional follow-through.
  • LMA (lead, manage, hold accountable) of production personnel.
  • Evaluate various processes of the production operations to ensure optimum efficiency; make recommendations as appropriate to increase efficiencies.
  • Identify areas for improvement and work with HR and operations to define and develop training opportunities for their team.
  • Assist in the recruitment, interviewing and onboarding of new hires.
  • Support HR activities, including but not limited to hiring, employee performance, reviews, discipline and termination.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and proactively address any potentially hazardous situations.
  • Report facility and/or equipment issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.


Responsibilities to Organization

  • Works within scope of position and direction; willingly accepts assignments.
  • Follows Companies policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality, security and standards of ethics with all Diesel Radiator information.
  • Approaches change and difficult situations in a professional manner; demonstrates flexibility.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance and punctuality; Accurately reports hours worked and time off.
  • Assists in keeping work areas and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Performs duties in a manner that assures maximum safety to self and others.
  • Initiates correction of hazards as appropriate and/or immediately notifies Safety Manager; in the event of a workplace incident or injury, immediately files first report with Safety Manager.
  • Operates equipment following manufacturer’s procedures and uses proper body mechanics.

Additional Information



High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 7 years in an industrial manufacturing environment, with at least 4 years of experience supervising a minimum of 15 direct reports.


Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly talk and hear.
  • Regularly see using close and distant vision.
  • Occasionally walk, climb, balance, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70+ pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
